The Portuguese has strictly criticized Paul Pogba for showing inconsistent form and lack of interest in the club football.

In an Interview with ESPN FC regarding the preseason matches, Mourinho tipped-off that he is unhappy with Pogba’s apparent irregularities at club level. Comparing his club performance with that of the World Cup, Jose pointed out that he focuses more on big level matches as compared to Premier League matches.
The 25-year-old French man showed an outstanding performance in the World Cup. He scored a massive goal in the final, thus making a contribution for France to be crowned with a World Cup title. However, the French star has yet again failed to impress the Portuguese.
Paul Pogba Continuously Struggles to Bring Consistency at United
Talking to the ESPN, Jose Mourinho pointed out that it’s “not about us getting the best out of him”. He said that the 25 years old star should give his best to the club. He taunted Pogba in very clear words that player like him can only give their best in the big tournaments like World Cup.
Former Chelsea coach further explained his point that in the World Cup, Pogba’s only focus was football. He spent time with his teammates and gave his best in the training camps. He completely cut out from the outer world.
Whereas in the season, there are big matches and then small matches. Due to this, Pogba is left with lack of concentration and focus, which is the cause of the trouble.
Moreover, he said that a player shows more commitment to his country while playing in the World Cup. He feels more emotional and extra responsible towards his nation.
Afer Mourinho’s comments, there has been some speculation that Paul Pogba might finally decide to leave Manchester United this summer. The player was heavily criticized during the last season by the manager as well, especially when he had to miss the Manchester Derby due to suspension.
The transfer window closes on August 9.
